Shaving Myths Debunked
“Shaving makes hair grow back thicker”
Shaving changes neither hair thickness nor growth rate. The cut tip can feel coarser and look darker as it grows out.
“More blades are always better”
Blade count alone does not predict comfort. If hairs become ingrown, avoid excessively close shaving and consider your tool, growth direction and skin response. A single blade does not guarantee freedom from symptoms.
“Canned foam is always worse”
Soaps, creams and ready-made shaving products vary by formulation. Suitable lubrication, hydrated hair and tolerance matter. Packaging does not establish universal superiority.
“Wet shaving takes a fixed time”
Time depends on preparation, equipment, practice and passes. Allow enough time; a universal minute target is unnecessary.
“A safety razor is as safe as every other razor”
All blades can cut. Design and technique affect handling; a particular angle or comb does not guarantee equal injury risk. Follow the instructions for your actual tool.
“More expensive is always better”
Compare suitable products using your actual use and skin response. Price, branding or natural-product claims do not replace this assessment. Unsupported brand comparisons and fixed example prices are of little help.
